I fabricated turkey burgers for the kickoff time ever using ground turkey......they were Disgusting!!! Made my house stink!!! I will not buy it over again!!! lol

  • GauchoMark

the thing is, virtually ground turkey is really not much lower in calories than lean footing beefiness.

  • tabinmaine

Absolutely dear ground turkey only information technology has to be in some sort of sauce, similar spagetti or taco'south etc... I love the premade frozen turkey burgers... on the grill

  • TerminatorFRS86

pudgy makes absolutely amazing ground turkey burgers that with a lil bbq sauce rival some good beef burgers out there. most 40% less cals too and a ton less fat.

  • samlankford

I honey ground turkey chest, has never fabricated my house stink or my tum hurt... just tin't bring myself to pay like 5 dollars a pound though..

  • MinnieInMaine

What GauchoMark said. And then many folks are fooled into thinking ground chicken or turkey is so much amend than ground beef but in some cases, it tin actually accept much more fatty if it'due south not specifically 90%. I've tried lean ground turkey a few times and accept had the same reaction as the OP - information technology's but totally gross. I'm fine with other turkey products though like pepperoni, kielbasa and hot dogs.

OP, you tin can get xc% or college lean ground beef and do just as well and I promise it volition taste much better! It's tough to make burgers out of very lean meat though - they seem to fall apart as well easily at least in my experience.

I use it all the time to make "turkey-veggie-chili" ...... I brown the ground turkey breast ..... put into slowcooker with chopped onions, peppers, beans, spices & herbs .... add canned tomato sauce or puree ..... OMG, the house smells and so good when I get home from piece of work ...... my hubby eats bowls of the stuff ..... it freezes well ..... leftovers are keen to accept for tiffin ..... (and we've both lost weight)

I use ground turkey ALL the time. It is catchy to cook because information technology has depression fat. I mix it with a bit of torilla and sometimes love apple sauce and onions and then BROIL information technology in the oven.

You need to read the label on information technology advisedly. Some basis turkey has lots of strange 'turkey bits' in it. Some does non. I also purchase turkey breasts or craven breasts and merely throw it through my meat ginder.

This is the Barefoot Contessa's turkey meatloaf recipe, which is succulent. Not depression cal, but delicous:

basis turkey chest but, or ground beef, the higher fat ground turkey is ok in chili or spaghetti but that's about it, but i feel the same about 85/15 ground beef. I consume a lot of the extra lean basis turkey, but buy it up on sale then I can beget information technology, lol.

I've never had a problem with footing turkey, but I do use it mostly in spaghetti or chili. I exercise like turkey burgers, and I've never had my house stink or my tum upset in any way. But turkey bacon does brand my house smell really weird, so that'southward where I describe the line.

Maybe you're only not used to it? Start with turkey burgers and ease into footing turkey. You'll accept to think that information technology tastes neither like ground beefiness or like the turkey you're used to at Thanksgiving. And it'due south adapts chop-chop to whatever sauce or spices you put on it.

honey turkey bacon (from Butterball) but tin can't bring myself to eat the ground turkey, kinda glad after hearing all these lol

I've found that unless y'all're seasoning it to high-sky, it doesn't taste very good. We won't hesitate to apply it in taco meat at all because the seasonings are giving it season. I saw it was pretty cheap at Aldi the other 24-hour interval ($1.79/lb) but we didn't buy any.

  • new2locs

It's all in the seasoning. What did you flavor information technology with? When I make turkey burgers I employ on package of lipton onion soup mix to 1lb of basis turkey & add together some garlic pulverization & a little pepper & it's delish!

  • Jkmumma

I'chiliad striking or miss most footing turkey. It goes well IN stuff, simply I can't exercise just turkey burgers. it'southward slap-up in chili, or spaghetti sauce or stuffed peppers.. merely merely the meat.. in a patty not so much.

I've had ground turkey, and information technology hasn't been a problem for me. I wouldn't say that it'due south as practiced every bit footing beef, only I'one thousand fine with it.

  • SlvrStarr

I have noticed a big difference in brands of ground turkey. The inexpensive brands are horrible.
I've gotten to the point that I buy only the Turkey Store branded products. If yous are expecting it to exist simply similar ground beef, it will non be, it's turkey and has to be treated similar turkey. Information technology does not accept the aforementioned fatty content and it's not blood-red meat.
If y'all are making a burger, information technology is very piece of cake to overcook it to the point of existence dry out and unpalatable. A petty water or other liquid in the pan helps a lot. Flavor-wise, I find that calculation Worcestershire sauce to ground turkey helps give it a more meaty flavour.

the thing is, almost ground turkey is really not much lower in calories than lean basis beef.

Hold. Just consume beef if you don't similar turkey

  • funkyspunky872

the affair is, most ground turkey is really not much lower in calories than lean basis beef.

This. I use 96% lean ground beefiness. Information technology's like 70 calories less a serving than footing turkey, and information technology'due south still beef, baby!
